'Gangnam Entertainment Bar Serial Deaths'... 2,000 Doses of Drugs Found in Deceased Customer's Car

[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] In a Gangnam entertainment bar in Seoul, where an employee and a customer died consecutively, 2,133 doses of drugs were found in the deceased customer's car.

On the 7th, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced that they collected 64g of a white powder suspected to be drugs from the car of a man in his 20s, Mr. A, who died after taking drugs at a Gangnam entertainment bar.

The police identified the personal information of three customers who attended the drinking party and another employee, completing the first round of investigation. They collected samples from these individuals to conduct drug and other substance reaction tests and requested a detailed examination from the National Forensic Service. The results of these tests are expected to take about a week. Additionally, the National Forensic Service will be requested to perform autopsies on the deceased customer and the female employee on the morning of the same day to determine the exact cause of death.

The police are investigating the deaths of Mr. A and a female employee in her 30s, Ms. B, who drank together at an entertainment bar in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. They drank together from around 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. on the 5th. Mr. A was driving alone and was found dead inside his car in a nearby park around 8:30 a.m. on the same day. Since a substance suspected to be drugs was found in Mr. A's car, it is believed that Mr. A put the suspected drug substance into Ms. B's drink.

A police official stated, "We are continuing additional investigations on the companions and those related to the entertainment bar," and added, "We will continue to track the exact circumstances of the incident and the distribution route of the suspected drug substances."
