Volkswagen Unveils New Arteon 2.0 TDI R-Line 4Motion for the First Time in Korea

Complete with 3 Lineups... Strengthening Attack on Premium Sedan Market

[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Volkswagen Korea announced on the 7th that it will launch the ‘New Arteon 2.0 TDI R-Line 4Motion,’ a flagship sedan Arteon equipped with a sporty R-Line design package, for the first time in the Korean market. Along with this, the all-wheel-drive model ‘New Arteon 2.0 TDI Prestige 4Motion’ will be added, presenting three Arteon lineups.

The ‘New Arteon 2.0 TDI R-Line 4Motion’ is a model making its debut in Korea, reflecting the high demand from domestic Arteon customers, and features Volkswagen’s high-performance specialized brand R’s design package to enhance its sporty appeal. In particular, it applies a bold design R-Line exclusive front bumper, and the R-Line logo is placed above the radiator grille, completing a more prominent front appearance.

The vehicle’s side also features the R-Line logo, and dynamic 20-inch Nashville alloy wheels are installed. At the rear, a rear spoiler and chrome quad exhaust pipes are applied, further emphasizing its charm as a sports sedan.

The interior also incorporates R-Line design elements centered on black color, continuing the sporty feel of the exterior inside. First, the R-Line logo is placed at the bottom of the steering wheel spoke, and a black headliner is applied to the A-pillar. Along with this, black titanium Nappa leather R-Line exclusive seats are installed, creating a unified interior atmosphere. Lastly, a ‘Harman Kardon’ sound system is equipped, allowing all seats to enjoy rich and vivid sound.

The newly released ‘New Arteon 2.0 TDI Prestige 4Motion’ adds the 4Motion system to the new Arteon, which has excellent driving stability, providing a more solid and stable movement. The ‘New Arteon 2.0 TDI Prestige 4Motion’ is equipped with 20-inch Rosario Dark Graphite Matte wheels.

The new Arteon is equipped with the next-generation EA288 evo 2.0 TDI engine, delivering a maximum output of 200 horsepower, which is 10 horsepower higher than the previous model, and a maximum torque of 40.8 kg.m. The official fuel efficiency for the 2.0 TDI Prestige 4Motion and 2.0 TDI R-Line 4Motion is 13.8 km/l (combined), 12.4 km/l (city), and 16.2 km/l (highway), while the 2.0 TDI Prestige achieves 15.5 km/l (combined), 13.7 km/l (city), and 18.5 km/l (highway).

The prices for the new Arteon are 54,908,000 KRW for the 2.0 TDI Prestige, 57,854,000 KRW for the 2.0 TDI Prestige 4Motion, and 59,817,000 KRW for the 2.0 TDI R-Line 4Motion (all prices include a 3.5% reduced individual consumption tax and VAT). When all benefits such as July promotions and vehicle return compensation programs are combined, the top trim ‘New Arteon 2.0 TDI R-Line 4Motion’ can be purchased starting from 52,727,000 KRW.
