Starting to Secure National Budget in the Era of 1 Trillion Won Budget
194 Billion Won in National Funds for 8 Major Projects Next Year
Gu In-mo, Mayor of Geochang County, is visiting the Ministry of Economy and Finance to request national funding support for major pending projects.

The projects proposed by Mayor Gu In-mo on this day include ▲Namsang Cheongnim District Small-scale Sewage Treatment Facility Installation Project (10.4 billion KRW) ▲Geochang Public Sewage Treatment Facility Expansion Project (24.9 billion KRW) ▲Geochang Southern Bypass Road Construction Project (43.9 billion KRW) ▲Support Project for Dormitory Construction for Foreign Rural Workers (3 billion KRW) ▲Underground District Natural Disaster Risk Improvement District Maintenance Project (14.9 billion KRW) ▲Gogyeon District Natural Disaster Risk Improvement District Maintenance Project (15.8 billion KRW), ▲Organic Agricultural Industry Complex Service Support Complex Construction (18 billion KRW) ▲Rural Agreement (43 billion KRW), totaling 8 projects with a total project cost of 173.9 billion KRW and a requested national funding amount of 19.4 billion KRW.
First, in a meeting with Han Kyung-ho, Social Budget Review Officer, he explained the need for continuous support for the ‘Namsang Cheongnim District Small-scale Sewage Treatment Facility Installation Project’ to improve water quality in the upper stream area of Hapcheon Dam and the ‘Public Sewage Treatment Facility Expansion Project’ necessary for stable water treatment due to excess sewage inflow.
Next, Mayor Gu In-mo met with Kim Wan-seop, Budget Director, and Kim Dong-il, Economic Budget Review Officer, to request the inclusion of design costs for the early commencement of the long-awaited ‘Southern Bypass Road Construction Project’ for Geochang residents and expanded national funding support for the ‘Dormitory Construction Support Project for Foreign Workers’ to alleviate rural labor shortages.
Additionally, in a meeting with Hwang Soon-gwan, Welfare and Safety Budget Review Officer, and Lee Mi-hye, Safety Budget Manager, he requested national funding selection and design cost support for the ‘Namsang Underground Stream Maintenance Project’ to prevent flood damage such as river overflow during heavy rains, and national funding support for the ‘Gajo Gogyeon Stream Maintenance Project.’
Finally, in a meeting with Kang Hyung-seok, Planning and Coordination Director of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, he requested support for service fees for the ‘Organic Agricultural Industry Complex Service Support Complex Construction Project’ selected in the March public contest this year, and timely project funding support for the smooth promotion of the ‘Rural Agreement’ selected in the June public contest this year.
Mayor Gu In-mo of Geochang County said, “To ensure the stable completion of pending projects in the 7th local government term and to support the foundation of policies to be promoted with the launch of the 8th term, securing national funding is the top priority. Until the end of the year when the 2023 national budget is finalized, we will carry out comprehensive activities to secure next year’s national funding through close cooperation with local lawmakers and personal networks with central government departments and Gyeongnam Province, striving to leap into the ‘1 trillion KRW budget era’ and realize the ‘Future Geochang Era where everyone wants to live.’”
