Korea Energy University Accelerates Training of Intelligent Electrical Safety Personnel

GAMS Interdisciplinary Major Plaque Unveiling Ceremony

Korea Energy University Accelerates Training of Intelligent Electrical Safety Personnel

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Korea Energy Engineering University (President Yoon Euijun) announced on the 6th that it held a plaque ceremony for the GAMS (Grid, AI, Material, Safety) Convergence Major to train intelligent electrical safety personnel at Kentec Hall, Building 1 of Korea Energy Engineering University on the 5th.

Korea Energy Engineering University was finally selected in May for the 'Energy Workforce Training Project' led by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and supported by the Korea Energy Technology Evaluation Institute. It will receive about 4.75 billion KRW in national funding over five years.

At the plaque ceremony, Kwon Kiyoung, President of the Korea Energy Technology Evaluation Institute, Noh Juhyun, Officer of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and representatives from supporting organizations and participating and cooperating companies attended to brighten the event.

Korea Energy Engineering University plans to establish the GAMS Convergence Major within the graduate school to train about 20 electrical safety convergence talents annually.

The GAMS Convergence Major is based on ▲specialized majors (Grid, AI, Material, Safety) ▲convergence majors (convergent research among specialized majors) ▲corporate-linked courses, allowing students to independently plan professional and convergent learning on electrical safety.

Additionally, through active exchange and collaboration with companies, a curriculum specialized in training convergent talents in electrical safety will be implemented.

The GAMS Convergence Major, led by Korea Energy Engineering University, will involve one joint research company (Incord Technologies) and 18 cooperating institutions (KM Data, E2S, Enit, Zion E&S, Soland, On, Withbeer, SK Solar Energy, SG Energy, Seochang Electric Communication, Bitsro ES, Dongwoo Electric, Next Grid, SDN, Miro, DeepEye, Deepx, TDL).

Kwon Kiyoung, President of the Korea Energy Technology Evaluation Institute, said, “Congratulations on the selection of the Electrical Safety Convergence Graduate School, and we plan to collaborate and support so that convergent talents in electrical safety who can contribute to carbon neutrality can be nurtured.”

Yoon Euijun, President of Korea Energy Engineering University, stated, “Korea Energy Engineering University will spare no effort in various research and support to foster problem-solving convergent talents through continuous collaboration with participating and cooperating companies, rather than one-sided education.”
