[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] A student team consisting of Byeon Min-jeong, a senior majoring in Computer Software Engineering at Dong-Eui University, and Baek Seo-hyun, a sophomore, won the grand prize, the Busan Information Industry Promotion Agency Director's Award, and received a tablet PC as a prize at the '2022 Southeast Region SW Quality Camp' SW Testing Competition held at Centum Hotel from June 21 to 22.
The award ceremony was held on the 1st at the Dong-Eui University Busan IT Convergence Components Research Institute, where a total of 10 teams were awarded: 1 grand prize team, 2 excellence prize teams, 3 merit prize teams, and 4 encouragement prize teams.
Dong-Eui University students achieved great success with a total of 5 teams winning awards: the grand prize team, excellence prize teams Song Jae-baek and Chu Yong-hyeok, merit prize teams Park Hyun-min and Choi Sung-jin, and encouragement prize teams Kim Si-hwan and Lee Dong-hyun, and Kim Kyung-hoon and Park Geun-min.
The 10 awarded teams are jointly hosted by the SW Quality Capability Centers of each region and are granted the qualification to participate in the National SW Testing Competition to be held in Busan from August 23 to 25.
The camp, organized by the Southeast Region SW Quality Capability Center as a regional SW quality capability enhancement project, was conducted for university students majoring in related fields and IT/SW company employees in the Southeast region.
The camp is a competition where participants perform various testing methods on two software products to find as many defects and improvements as possible.
The test products of the camp were 'Kkubo,' an immersive content web VR cyber model house by Tiraum, an IT company in Busan, and 'AI Highshasang,' QTT's next-generation digital dental care solution.
The SW Quality Capability Centers are organizations established in four regions?Southeast, Daegu-Gyeongbuk, Chungcheong, and Honam?by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency to support testing, consulting, various development-related technical materials, and professional workforce training for improving SW quality of local IT and SW companies.
The Southeast Region SW Quality Capability Center is hosted by the Busan Information Industry Promotion Agency and operated by Dong-Eui University Busan IT Convergence Components Research Institute and Gyeongnam Technopark.
