[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Noh Kwan-gyu) announced on the 6th that it will form the '(tentative name) First-Class Suncheon 2050 TF' to meet citizens' expectations and operate city administration effectively.
The 'First-Class Suncheon 2050 TF' will be composed of experienced and competent staff as well as fresh and smart MZ generation employees, representing various generations and multiple internal government sectors, and is scheduled to be launched within this month.
The TF will take a creative rather than imitative approach to present Suncheon's future vision and the unique standards of First-Class Suncheon, discover future growth industries such as carbon-neutral economy, AI and hydrogen industries, and policies that citizens can directly experience. It will also play a role in preparing plans to efficiently utilize urban spaces by key locations.
Through the TF, the city plans to quickly establish momentum for major policies from the early stages of the 8th local government term and secure national funds in a timely manner by discovering projects linked to the central government's national agenda.
Mayor Noh Kwan-gyu of Suncheon said, "During my term in the 4th local government in 2008, we established the mid- to long-term development plan for Suncheon, 'Hope Suncheon 2020.'" He added, "We will operate the TF more substantively than before and, based on dignified citizens and trusted administration, create a city that sets the standard for Korea and embodies the image of First-Class Suncheon."
