[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Hankook Tire & Technology (Hankook Tire) announced on the 6th that it will accelerate digital transformation (DT) by collaborating with Rescale, a cloud high-performance computing (HPC) platform company.

The cloud HPC platform is a large-scale computing resource used in simulation research, an important research and development (R&D) phase in the mobility industry, contributing to enhancing stability in mobility R&D by implementing simulations beyond temporal and physical limitations.

Through this collaboration with Rescale, it is expected that Hankook Tire's simulation software will demonstrate optimal performance by accelerating the 'digital twin,' a virtual counterpart of real-world objects, within the cloud HPC platform, thereby achieving optimized operational efficiency.

A digital twin is a technology that implements real objects or systems in a virtual space to create prototype designs. To dominate the new mobility market such as electric vehicles and autonomous driving, it is essential to accelerate the speed of new technology R&D by executing an explosive number of simulations through digital twins.

Especially as the automotive industry recently focuses on mobility innovation centered on Connectivity, Autonomous driving, Sharing, and Electrification (CASE), Hankook Tire plans to strengthen its digital transformation competitiveness through this collaboration and accelerate the development of innovative tire technologies to lead the future mobility market, including electric and autonomous vehicles.
