Dukso Station Stops and Operations... 4 Times on Weekends (Fri, Sat, Sun) (2 Times Each Direction)
Mayor Joo Gwangdeok: "We Will Do Our Best to Add Stops on Weekdays as Well"
[Asia Economy Reporter La Young-cheol] The Gangneung Line 'KTX-Eum High-Speed Train,' which operates from Seoul Cheongnyangni Station to Gangneung and Donghae, will stop and operate at Namyangju (Deokso Station) every weekend and holiday.
According to Korail and Namyangju City on the 5th, the Gangneung Line 'KTX-Eum High-Speed Train' plans to operate four times (two times each for up and down directions) on weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) starting from July 31, considering weekend tourism demand in the metropolitan area.
The train will start stopping at Deokso Station from the 9:59 AM Donghae-bound train on the 31st.
Korail's announcement of the Gangneung Line 'KTX-Eum High-Speed Train' stopping and operating at Deokso Station has been one of the long-cherished projects of Namyangju citizens.
Previously, Namyangju City continuously proposed the necessity of stopping at Deokso Station to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Korail, and local members of the National Assembly based on expert consultations even before the opening of the 'Gangneung Line KTX.'
Joo Gwang-deok, Mayor of Namyangju City, said, "I want to share the overwhelming emotion and joy of the Gangneung Line KTX-Eum stopping at Deokso Station with the citizens," and expressed gratitude to Kim Yong-min, the local member of the National Assembly, and Won Hee-ryong, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
He added, "We will do our best to ensure that the KTX stop is not limited to four weekend operations but can be added on weekdays as well. In the future, as we enter the 'super growth era' for the leap to a special city with a population of one million, we will establish Namyangju as a convenient transportation hub city in the metropolitan area for all 740,000 citizens."
