Hamyang-gun Conducts Intensive Inspection of Illegal Activities in River Areas During Summer Vacation Season Hamyang County Office.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, has begun intensive inspections of illegal activities targeting major valleys and rivers as the hot weather and vacation season begin in earnest.

The county will focus on inspecting illegal facility installations, privatization of rivers, and damage to facilities for two months from early July to the end of August, targeting major valleys and rivers frequently visited by visitors. It also plans to carry out activities to prevent human casualties, such as pre-evacuation during heavy rains.

The main inspection targets are areas where illegal activities are repeated every year, such as Baekmudong Valley, Birinae Valley, Yongchu Valley, and Nongwoljeong. Inspections will continue not only on weekdays but also on weekends.

A county official said, "If illegal activities are found, we will encourage voluntary removal, and if not complied with, we plan to take action according to relevant laws." He added, "We ask for the voluntary participation of local residents to eradicate illegal activities in order to create a pleasant river environment and enhance the image of major attractions."
