Secured 3.8 Billion KRW in National and Local Funds for Joseong Industrial Complex Revitalization Project
[Boseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Cheon-seok] Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 4th that it has been selected for the ‘2022 Agricultural Industrial Complex Package Support Project’ hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
With this selection, Boseong-gun plans to invest project funds into the Joseong Agricultural Industrial Complex, which was completed and has been operating since 2009.
The core projects include the construction of a complex cultural center and the creation of a beautiful street.
The secured project budget is 3.8 billion KRW from national and provincial funds, with a total project cost of 4.8 billion KRW.
To promote a project centered on actual users, Boseong-gun collected opinions on necessary facilities and environmental improvements from resident companies and workers within the Joseong Agricultural Industrial Complex in May.
Additionally, in cooperation with the Jeollanam-do Foundation Industry Division and Jeonnam Technopark, they discussed activation measures for the agricultural industrial complex and discovered collaborative projects, preparing an activation plan through consultations with various institutions.
Based on this, the conceptual plan for the complex cultural center places a multi-office, cafeteria, book caf?, and management office on the first floor, and 13 residential studio rooms along with a fitness room on the second floor.
In particular, the addition of residential studio rooms is expected to encourage workers who commute from other regions to reside locally, contributing to population growth and revitalization of the local economy.
The beautiful street creation project will include road and park maintenance within the agricultural industrial complex, expansion of green spaces, and reinforcement of nighttime lighting facilities.
The project aims to develop a resting space centered on workers during the day and a daily healing space for local residents’ walks and exercise at night.
A county official stated, “We will systematically promote this agricultural industrial complex package support project so that benefits extend to the Joseong 2nd Agricultural Industrial Complex currently under construction in Joseong-myeon, and hope that expanding public support facilities will help improve the management environment of resident companies and working conditions for workers.”
Kim Cheol-woo, Governor of Boseong-gun, said, “To increase the added value of Boseong-gun, which has grown centered on the primary industry, linkage with the secondary industry is very important.” He added, “Currently, Boseong-gun’s agricultural industrial complex is 100% leased, and additional complexes are being developed as the secondary industry continues to grow. We will discover and promote various support projects to create a business-friendly environment following this trend.”
Meanwhile, the agricultural industrial complex package support project, launched for the first time this year in line with the activation plan announced at the 2021 National Policy Coordination Meeting, supports two or more of four projects?complex cultural center construction, innovation support center establishment, remodeling of idle or closed factories, and creation of vibrant and beautiful streets?over three years.
