[Golf Topic] 'LIV Golf Faction' Poulter Wins Lawsuit "Competing in the Scottish Open~"

[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] ○…‘LIV Golf faction’ Ian Poulter (England, photo) won the lawsuit.

On the 5th (Korean time), AP News and others reported, "Philip Sycamore, the UK sports arbitrator, accepted the injunction suspending the disciplinary actions filed by Ian Poulter (England), Adrian Otaegui (Spain), and Justin Harding (South Africa) against the DP World Tour (formerly European Tour)." Sixteen players including them participated in the LIV Invitational Series, supported by the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund, and were fined and banned from three tournaments.

Poulter, Otaegui, and Harding filed an injunction to suspend the disciplinary actions in order to participate in the Genesis Scottish Open, and the judge ruled in their favor after a hearing process. The three immediately appeared on the Scottish Open entry list. Keith Pelley, CEO of the DP World Tour, said, "It is disappointing," but added, "However, the disciplinary actions will continue." Poulter is a ‘match play specialist.’ He has won 3 times on the PGA Tour and 12 times on the DP World Tour.
