The developer of Smart Racing Park, Monolith Co., Ltd. (co-CEOs Kim Jong-seok and Kim Na-young), has announced that ‘9.81 Park’ will celebrate its 2nd anniversary this year by offering new content and updated services.

Located in Aewol, Jeju, ‘9.81 Park’ is a smart theme park with the main theme of Gravity Racing, where visitors race down a sloped track using gravitational acceleration (g=9.81m/s²).

New content additions include ▲ ‘META 981,’ which allows users to enjoy Race 981 in a virtual space ▲ ‘PRO ARENA,’ an expert-level indoor laser survival game ▲ ‘PHOTO DRINK,’ a high-end self photo studio ▲ and ‘BROCCOLLEGE,’ an F&B facility where visitors can enjoy fresh Jeju-grown vegetables in a fun way.

Additionally, following the transition to an endemic phase and the resumption of regular international flights, English services have been added throughout the 9.81 Park app and facilities to cater to overseas tourists.

‘9.81 Park,’ which officially opened in July 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, has achieved remarkable results by operating steadily despite difficult circumstances. As a result, it was selected as a ‘2021 Korea Tourism Star’ and received a special award alongside the 2021 hit series ‘Squid Game.’

Moreover, the cumulative number of visitors to 9.81 Park has surpassed 1 million, and the main activity, ‘RACE 981,’ is approaching 2 million cumulative races, demonstrating its immense popularity.

Kim Jong-seok, co-CEO of Monolith, stated, “Although 9.81 Park opened during the COVID-19 period, it has adapted well and grown. After the transition to an endemic phase, the world is changing in ways completely different from the past, and the enjoyment provided by 9.81 Park must continue to evolve accordingly.”

He added, “Monolith aims to become a theme park that is always fresh whenever customers visit by continuously developing and updating various new activities and game content based on technology.”

Meanwhile, Monolith is preparing to open the second branch of ‘9.81 Park’ targeting completion in 2024. The second branch, ‘9.81 Park Incheon Airport,’ will incorporate the latest technologies such as augmented reality (AR), artificial intelligence (AI), and real-time location tracking system (RTLS) to provide a more immersive gaming experience.
