BMW Launches New M850i xDrive Coupe and Gran Coupe

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] BMW Korea announced on the 5th that it will officially launch the high-performance luxury sports cars, the new M850i Coupe and Gran Coupe, in the domestic market.

The BMW new M850i xDrive Coupe and Gran Coupe are high-performance models of the sports car new 8 Series. The new M850i xDrive Coupe and Gran Coupe feature the new BMW kidney grille. The new radiator grille has U-shaped bars arranged inside the frame. BMW Iconic Glow is applied. Additionally, it is equipped with thin headlamps featuring BMW Laser Lights and a newly designed air intake inlay.

M-exclusive side mirrors, M badges attached to the radiator grille, and 20-inch M double-spoke 895M two-tone wheels emphasize the distinctive charm unique to BMW M models. This year, the classic ‘BMW Motorsport’ emblem commemorating the 50th anniversary of the BMW M brand was applied.

The body offers four new exterior color options: Skyscraper Grey, Sanremo Green, M Portimo Blue, and BMW Individual Frozen Tanzanite Blue.

The new M850i xDrive Coupe and Gran Coupe are equipped with a 4.4-liter V8 M TwinPower Turbo gasoline engine delivering a maximum output of 530 horsepower and a maximum torque of 76.5 kg·m. They also feature an 8-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission and the BMW xDrive system. They accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds.

The price is 139.1 million KRW for the new M850i xDrive Gran Coupe and 142.9 million KRW for the new M850i xDrive Coupe (including VAT, based on a 3.5% individual consumption tax), offering the most attractive choice in the domestic high-performance luxury sports car market.

Meanwhile, to commemorate the launch of the new M850i Coupe and Gran Coupe, BMW Korea will introduce the ‘New M850i xDrive Coupe First Edition’ and ‘New M850i Gran Coupe First Edition’ as limited models on the BMW Shop Online this month. In September, the ‘M850i xDrive Gran Coupe Jeff Koons Edition,’ designed by pop artist Jeff Koons, will be unveiled for the first time in Korea.
