Busan Office of Education, Regular Personnel Changes ... Appointment of 429 Local Government Officials Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education announced the regular personnel appointments for 429 local government officials as of July 8, 2022.

The personnel appointments include 155 promotions, 266 transfers, and 8 new hires. Among the promotions, there are 10 at grade 5 and 145 at grade 6 or below, totaling 155.

This personnel appointment is the first regular appointment since Superintendent Ha Yun-su of the 5th elected term took office.

The appointments focused on realizing the new Busan education policy of customization, safety, and empathy, including ▲strengthening field support through rotational transfers between the Office of Education and schools (institutions) ▲assigning those who have continuously worked at the headquarters after promotion to schools (institutions) ▲selecting key personnel based on work ability and experience ▲reflecting the new superintendent’s educational philosophy and values.

Promotions were given to officials who demonstrated capabilities in various job categories such as educational administration, librarianship, IT, engineering, facilities, sanitation, facility management, driving, architectural operations, telephone counseling operations, heat management operations, and office operations.

Transfers were assigned by comprehensively considering the transfer scoring system, characteristics of institutions (departments), individual job competencies, preferred locations, and residences to place the right personnel.

Promoted and newly hired officials were primarily assigned to frontline schools to enhance administrative capacity at school sites and invigorate the organization.

Senior personnel appointments at grade 4 and above were made by selecting suitable candidates based on performance and ability, and grade 4 promotions will be implemented in connection with educational professional personnel appointments and position restructuring.

Roh Jang-seok, Director of General Affairs at the City Office of Education, stated, “We will continue to select talented personnel based on ability and performance-centered personnel principles, communicate with the education field, and place them appropriately.”
