URI Global, a US-based marketing specialist company founded by Korean entrepreneur Hwang Haeyeon (Xochitl Hwang), is planning to establish an Asia branch in Seoul.
URI Global Chairman Hwang Haeyeon announced that in July, the company will sign strategic business agreements with Korean startup companies ‘Ubolab’ and ‘Kakung’, and based on related projects, will establish URI Global’s Asia branch in the second half of this year.
The establishment of URI Global’s Asia branch aims to support the successful entry of innovative startups and companies from Korea and Asia into the US market.
Selected as an initial project partner for URI Global’s Asia branch, ‘Ubolab’ (CEO Kim Youngsook) is a medical information service company utilizing artificial intelligence technology. They developed a medical app that calculates the appropriate drug dosage through various scenarios created based on patient diagnoses and doctor prescriptions. Through the business agreement with URI Global, Ubolab has laid the groundwork to expand this service into the US market.
Additionally, ‘Kakung’ (CEO Seo Giyeong) is a platform that provides blockchain-based services covering all stages from purchase to management and sales of super luxury cars such as Ferrari and Lamborghini, as well as electric vehicles. Kakung service users can handle PDI (Pre-delivery inspection) and vehicle maintenance all in one place through the platform. Kakung plans to proceed with business agreements with local US dealers and major OEM companies together with URI Global.
Furthermore, URI Global plans to carry out global projects in areas such as future mobility and ESG through the establishment of the Asia branch, serving as a facilitator for startups entering the US market and continuing its role as a bridgehead between the Asian and US markets.
URI Chairman Hwang Haeyeon (Xochitl Hwang) stated, “Until now, the success of small and medium enterprises entering the US market was unlikely without sufficient capital or human resources. However, in the post-COVID era where digital technology has grown overwhelmingly, business systems and consumer environments have changed, and if you meet a facilitator with sufficient understanding and experience of the market, it has become a market with winning potential.”
Meanwhile, URI Global, established in 1996, is a multicultural and global marketing and communication strategy specialist company. It has conducted global marketing for representative Korean companies and events such as Samsung Electronics, LG, Hyundai Motor Company, Korean Air, and the 2002 World Cup, as well as for the China National Tourism Office (CNTO), Toyota, Hyundai Motor Company, and the Genesis brand. The company is currently headquartered in the Los Angeles area, California.
