Remote Medical Platform Soldak Secures Series A Investment from POSCO Technology Investment

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] Remote medical platform Soldak recently announced on the 4th that it secured Series A funding from POSCO Technology Investment.

With this investment, Soldak was recognized with a corporate valuation exceeding 40 billion KRW and smoothly began its Series A fundraising process. A Soldak representative explained, “Based on this investment, we will actively develop services for medically vulnerable groups, such as residents in remote island and mountainous areas.”

This investment is the first from the ‘POSCO Social Investment Fund’ managed by POSCO Technology Investment. The POSCO Social Investment Fund is established to invest in companies whose main business purpose is solving social issues. Soldak is reported to have received high evaluations for its services aimed at medically vulnerable groups.

The company also explained that Soldak’s technological capabilities, which include independently developed customer management systems related to telemedicine and solutions specialized in online prescriptions that enhance convenience in the medical staff’s diagnosis and prescription processes, were a major factor leading to the investment decision. Soldak’s revisit conversion rate is in the 80% range, and compared to other startups in the telemedicine field, it is evaluated that users have relatively high satisfaction with the service.

Soldak plans to expand its business into an ‘On-demand healthcare service’ that provides personalized treatment by combining healthcare data and artificial intelligence technology. CEO Ho-ik Lee of Soldak said, “With this investment, we will advance telemedicine and healthcare technologies and develop more convenient services for medically vulnerable groups,” adding, “We will also develop services from a preventive medicine perspective using healthcare data in the future.”
