Daejeon Jochajang Station Derailment Accident... SR "Complete Overhaul of Emergency Response Manual"

Daejeon Jochajang Station Derailment Accident... SR "Complete Overhaul of Emergency Response Manual" SR CEO Lee Jong-guk is presiding over a meeting to review countermeasures for the derailment accident near Daejeon Jochajang Station at the headquarters on the 4th.

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Min-young] SR, the operator of SRT, announced on the 4th that it will completely overhaul its emergency response manual to strengthen customer guidance and transportation support in the event of emergencies, following the derailment accident of SRT Train No. 338 near Daejeon Jochajang Station on the 1st.

On the same day, SR CEO Lee Jong-guk chaired a countermeasure inspection meeting regarding the derailment accident near Daejeon Jochajang Station at the headquarters and instructed, "Reflecting on the response results of this accident, re-examine the emergency response manual from the customer's perspective," and "Remove formal content and completely overhaul it so that it can be applied immediately in actual situations."

Immediately after the accident, SR deployed headquarters personnel to each station and provided train usage guidance through the website, app, and text message notifications. They also coordinated buses and taxis and provided additional transportation expenses according to the manual for emergency response. However, since the train operation delay time and changed train operation information due to the accident were not immediately conveyed to customers, causing increased inconvenience, SR plans to enhance the system to reflect delay information in real time and provide guidance accordingly.

Furthermore, SR plans to prepare measures to support transportation convenience for passengers in case of long train delays caused by accidents not only at exclusive stations but also at shared stations such as Busan and Gwangju Songjeong.

CEO Lee Jong-guk operated a local accident response headquarters, monitoring passenger transportation and track restoration in real time from immediately after the accident on the 1st until the train resumed normal operation the next morning.

CEO Lee said, "Regarding the train derailment that occurred on the 1st, we will establish and implement strong measures to turn this into an opportunity for growth in all areas including safety assurance, customer transportation, and vehicle recovery."
