On the 8th, Changwon City Park Water Playground Reopens Fully After 2 Years Citizens visiting the water playground in a park in Changwon-si, Gyeongnam.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] The water play areas in parks in Changwon City, Gyeongnam, will open from the 8th.

The city will open the water play areas in parks, which had been closed for the past two years due to the large-scale spread of COVID-19, and will operate them from the 8th to August 21.

The water play areas in parks are located in Gammgye 3rd Park in Uichang-gu, Gieopsarang Park in Seongsan-gu, Daewon Neighborhood Park, Hyeondong Park in Masanhappo-gu, 3·15 Marine Nuri Park, Samgye Park in Masanhoewon-gu, and Ancheong Park in Jinhae-gu.

Until 2019, there were four water play areas in Changwon City, but three more have been added, making a total of seven.

The water play areas operate from 11 a.m. to 4:40 p.m., and are closed every Monday for facility inspection and cleaning.

The city plans to disinfect playground equipment, shower rooms, and restrooms at least once a month to prevent the resurgence of COVID-19.

A city official said, “Although quarantine guidelines have been relaxed, the water play areas tend to be crowded,” and added, “We ask that visitors wear masks and strictly follow social distancing guidelines when using the water play areas.”

Lee Chunsu, Director of the Green City Project Office, said, “Although COVID-19 has not been completely eradicated, we will deploy safety personnel throughout the facilities and focus on disinfection so that many citizens can safely rest in their daily lives exhausted by COVID-19,” and added, “We hope users actively cooperate with COVID-19 safety rules such as maintaining distance from others, wearing masks, and using personal items.”
