Hampyeong-gun Opens Additional Applications for Early Retirement of Old Diesel Vehicles and New LPG Freight Vehicle Purchases

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 4th that it will accept additional applications for the ‘Early Retirement of Old Diesel Vehicles and New Purchase Support Project for LPG Cargo Vehicles’ to reduce air pollutants caused by exhaust gases.

The early retirement support targets are diesel vehicles with emission grade 5 and three types of road construction machinery manufactured before 2005 under the emission standards (dump trucks, concrete mixer trucks, concrete pump trucks).

Diesel vehicles with emission grade 5 can be verified through the Ministry of Environment’s Comprehensive Automobile Emission System or call center.

Eligibility requirements are ▲registered in the jurisdiction for more than 6 months as of the application date ▲the final owner has owned the vehicle for more than 6 months ▲the vehicle has been certified as operational by a procedure agent’s issued confirmation.

The additional support volume includes about 250 early retirement vehicles and 2 new LPG cargo vehicles, supported within the budget range.

The early retirement support amount is up to 3 million KRW for vehicles under 3.5 tons gross weight, and up to 40 million KRW for vehicles over 3.5 tons or the three types of road construction machinery.

However, for diesel vehicles with emission grade 5 under 3.5 tons that cannot be equipped with emission reduction devices, or vehicles owned for livelihood, business use, or by small business owners, the support limit is expanded to 6 million KRW.

The early retirement project application period is until the 14th, and the new LPG cargo vehicle purchase period is from the 4th to the 8th.

Applicants wishing to participate can apply in person at the Environmental Water and Sewerage Division or town and township offices, or apply online through the Comprehensive Automobile Emission System.
