[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Dong-joo] Lee Jun-seok, leader of the People Power Party, who is facing an ethics committee review over allegations of instructing the destruction of evidence related to sexual bribery, attended the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly on the 4th. The party's ethics committee plans to summon Lee on the 7th to hear his explanation and then deliberate on disciplinary measures.

The possible disciplinary levels currently include Δexpulsion Δrecommendation to leave the party Δsuspension of party membership rights Δwarning, totaling four stages. Disciplinary actions of suspension or higher could directly affect Lee's position, and even the mildest warning is expected to increase pressure for his voluntary resignation.
