Samsung SDI held its 52nd anniversary ceremony on the 1st at the Giheung plant, attended by about 120 executives and employees including CEO Choi.

At the event, CEO Choi explained the internal and external management environment crises such as the Ukraine-Russia war and global supply chain changes, emphasizing ultra-gap technological competitiveness.

He mentioned technologies such as lithium-ion battery performance maximization, next-generation battery technologies including all-solid-state batteries, and new material development technologies for semiconductors and displays, saying, "Let us strengthen external networks and technological cooperation to secure ultra-gap technological competitiveness that competitors cannot challenge."

He continued, "Quality risks can destroy the company’s performance overnight and put the business at risk of survival, so it is necessary for executives and employees to improve awareness and participate," urging, "Let us standardize with a single operating platform so that the best quality can be maintained equally anywhere in the world."

He also referred to the joint venture contract with Stellantis in the U.S. and high-growth expected large-capacity cylindrical and all-solid-state batteries, encouraging, "Let us secure qualitative growth with profitability superiority by early mass production to preoccupy the next-generation product market."

Furthermore, he emphasized strengthening ESG management for building trust and coexistence with all stakeholders and proactive climate change response, as well as practicing compliance management, stating that the company will actively secure and nurture excellent talent to secure future competitiveness.
