"Endemic Staycation Keyword is Rest" Hotel Industry Launches Summer Vacation Packages Lotte Hotel's 'Midsummer Night's Cinema' Package.

[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jin-young] As COVID-19 transitions into an endemic (periodic outbreak of infectious diseases), consumer demand for spending summer vacations purely on relaxation and rest at hotels is increasing. The hotel industry is responding by offering various summer packages.

According to a preliminary survey conducted by Gmarket and Auction ahead of the large-scale travel promotion 'Travel Big Sale,' more than half (57%) of respondents chose 'rest and relaxation' as the most desired activity during their vacation. For accommodation, 'hotel' (50%), where one can fully enjoy a staycation, was the most preferred. An industry insider analyzed, "People are taking rest-focused trips to relieve the accumulated fatigue from the pandemic."

In response, the hotel industry has actively targeted this demand. Lotte Hotel Seoul is offering the 'Midsummer Night's Cinema' package until the end of next month, allowing guests to enjoy movies in their rooms. Equipped with LG Electronics' new projector 'CineBeam Laser 4K,' the hotel suite transforms into a private theater where guests can watch movies privately. Guests can choose between a deluxe suite with a high-floor city view or a junior suite, and the package also includes the hotel's chef's in-room dining service 'Gourmet in Cine.' Package guests can access three OTT services?Netflix, Disney+, and Apple TV?during their stay without needing a separate personal account.

Shilla Hotel offers a floating yoga program at 'Urban Island.' The program starts 1 hour and 20 minutes before Urban Island opens and lasts for 50 minutes. After completing the program, guests can enjoy the morning swimming benefits during Urban Island's morning hours, allowing for a leisurely start to the day.

The package allows selection among Deluxe, Business Deluxe, Grand Corner Deluxe, and Superior Suite rooms. Common benefits include the floating yoga program (for 2 people, 50-minute class the morning after check-in, operating hours vary by date), Urban Island morning admission benefits (for 2 people), and access to the fitness center and indoor swimming pool (for 2 people). Additionally, choosing the Superior Suite room provides extra benefits such as access to The Executive Lounge (for 2 people) and the indoor sauna (for 2 people). Only customers using the 'Summer Floating Yoga' package can participate in the program. The package is available every Sunday through Thursday until the end of next month.

Fairmont Ambassador Seoul Hotel, in collaboration with The Hyundai Seoul, presents the urban summer staycation 'Summer Shopping Package.'
