[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] The People Power Party evaluated on the 1st that President Yoon Suk-yeol's attendance at the NATO summit "showed the changed diplomacy of Korea to the international community, including Europe."
Kim Hyung-dong, chief spokesperson of the People Power Party, said, "Today, President Yoon returned home after attending the NATO summit, his first overseas visit since taking office," and made this evaluation.
Spokesperson Kim conveyed, "The president appealed that ‘to achieve peace on the Korean Peninsula, it must be shown that the international community's will for denuclearization is stronger than North Korea's reckless nuclear weapons development will,’ emphasizing the importance of firm security in preparation for North Korean provocations." He continued, "As NATO develops into a value alliance among countries based on freedom, human rights, and the rule of law at this meeting, Korea also promised to participate as a ‘global pivotal state’ sharing these values."
Regarding the Korea-U.S.-Japan summit, he evaluated that "the three countries proved that their relationship is advancing toward closer ties."
Regarding the economic exchanges conducted by President Yoon at this summit, he evaluated, "In bilateral talks with leaders of various European countries, customized ‘sales diplomacy’ was carried out for each country, covering world-class semiconductor industry and nuclear power technology, as well as future industries such as defense industry and renewable energy."
Spokesperson Kim promised, "The People Power Party and the Yoon Suk-yeol administration will do their best to ensure that these efforts made at the NATO summit can actually lead to achievements such as ‘North Korean denuclearization’ and ‘export expansion.’"
