Korea GM Sells Total of 26,688 Units in June... "Best Performance Since June Last Year"

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Korea GM announced on the 1st that it sold a total of 26,688 vehicles last month. This is the best performance since June last year, when 26,876 units were recorded.

Exports reached 22,255 units, a 5.3% increase compared to the same month last year. This is the highest performance since February 2021. The Chevrolet Trailblazer, along with the Buick Encore GX which shares the same vehicle platform, exported a total of 15,692 units, showing a 3.6% increase compared to the same month last year, driving the performance. Additionally, the Chevrolet Spark exported 3,882 units, marking an 84.3% increase compared to the same month last year.

In the domestic market, the Chevrolet Spark and Trailblazer sold 1,205 and 1,987 units respectively. The imported sales models, Equinox, Traverse, and Tahoe, which are key to Korea GM’s two-track strategy, continued to receive positive market responses as deliveries to customers accelerated. Korea GM has been expanding its sports utility vehicle (SUV) lineup from compact to full-size through the launch of these products this year.

In particular, the recently launched Chevrolet The Next Equinox led a positive initial market response with 299 units sold. Also, the Chevrolet Colorado sold a total of 264 units, a 31.3% increase compared to the same month last year.

Carlos Minert, Vice President of Sales, Service, and Marketing at Korea GM, said, "Korea GM is further expanding its product portfolio by introducing GMC, one of GM’s representative brands along with Chevrolet. As domestic customers show strong interest in various GM products recently introduced, such as Sierra and Tahoe, we will strive to ensure smoother customer deliveries in the second half of the year and strengthen the position of GM’s brands in the domestic market through this."

Meanwhile, Chevrolet will offer abundant benefits to domestic customers in July through the ‘Let’s Go with Chevrolet!’ promotion. Customers purchasing Malibu and Trailblazer will receive low-interest long-term installment benefits or combo installment benefits combining installments and cash support. Through the ‘New Chevy Ride’ special program, customers who obtained a new license within one year will receive up to 300,000 KRW additionally. Also, from today until the 31st of next month, the ‘Let’s Go Ride’ event will be held, offering various gifts through a lottery to customers visiting the Chevrolet website and showrooms.
