Global disease testing specialist medical institution ‘Seegene Medical Foundation’ announced that it will participate in ‘MEDIEXPO KOREA 2022,’ held at Daegu EXCO from July 1 to 3.

Through this exhibition, Seegene Medical Foundation plans to introduce its AI-based next-generation diagnostic testing business models, including the mobile testing laboratory ‘Seegene Mobile Lab,’ COVID-19 testing centers for overseas arrivals and departures, and the clinic-level electronic chart system ‘SeeChart.’

Among them, the ‘Seegene Mobile Lab,’ a culmination of innovative molecular diagnostic testing technology, is a ‘mobile testing laboratory’ created by modifying a large special-purpose vehicle. It provides a one-stop solution that allows immediate confirmation of test results, moving beyond the concept of mobile screening clinics that only collect specimens. Inside the mobile lab are state-of-the-art automated testing equipment including an extraction room, negative pressure room, and a self-generator, as well as four Real-time PCR machines capable of amplifying DNA. Notably, through a systematic process where clinical pathologists perform the tests and diagnostic laboratory medicine specialists make the final decisions, the entire process from specimen collection to confirmation is completed within four hours.

Measuring 12 meters in length, 2.35 meters in width, and 2.39 meters in height, the mobile lab can be rapidly moved and installed in any space meeting these dimensions. It can test up to approximately 7,000 people per day, enabling full testing of suspected outbreak areas within a single day. Additionally, with its active accessibility, it allows test subjects to complete specimen collection, testing, and result determination all in one place without dispersing the time for travel, collection, and diagnosis. This makes it suitable for situations requiring web-like quarantine measures and pinpoint-focused intensive quarantine systems.

Furthermore, Seegene Medical Foundation has previously installed and operated COVID-19 testing centers to help overcome the pandemic crisis. From December last year to April this year, it operated four regional COVID-19 testing centers in cooperation with Seoul Metropolitan Government at Changdong Station Public Parking Lot (Northeast), Jamsil Sports Complex 2nd Parking Lot (Southeast), World Cup Park Peace Plaza (Northwest), and Mokdong Sports Complex South Gate Parking Lot (Southwest). In March, it signed an agreement with Ewha Womans University and completed the installation of the ‘Ewha Safe Station’ on campus to assist students and staff in receiving COVID-19 tests. Additionally, from May 23 to 27, Seegene Medical Foundation established and supported COVID-19 testing systems including PCR and rapid antigen tests at the 28th World Gas Conference (WGC 2022) held at EXCO in Buk-gu, Daegu.

Alongside this, the SeeChart system that Seegene Medical Foundation will introduce at MEDIEXPO is a clinic-level electronic chart system that combines the advantages of existing electronic charts with the latest IT technologies, offering OCS and EMR solutions to assist hospital management. Especially, SeeCheck, which is also provided as a separate program, features powerful prescription and billing review functions for appropriate medical care.

Despite being a latecomer in electronic charts, Seegene Medical Foundation provides essential functions and services for clinics within its solution, including △health checkups △vaccinations △pen charts △electronic consent forms △unmanned reception △patient waiting system (DID) △integration with Narcotics Integrated Management System (NIMS) △reporting of legally mandated infectious diseases △integration with various tests and equipment △deduction and omission inspection program SeeCheck.

A representative of Seegene Medical Foundation stated, “SeeChart has received positive evaluations for its next-generation latest UI and excellent data conversion.” He added, “The foundation is releasing various products to lead the future OCS and EMR market proactively by adapting to IT technological changes and communicating with customers to support hospital management.”

In addition, Seegene Medical Foundation plans to introduce several self-developed solutions aimed at improving the quality of diagnostic and pathology testing and enhancing work efficiency.

Meanwhile, by establishing and operating an ‘AI Research Team,’ Seegene Medical Foundation is focusing on developing AI technologies to improve diagnostic and pathology testing quality and work efficiency. It plans to accelerate the construction of next-generation diagnostic and pathology testing business models that respond to future societal changes by developing AI technology in-house, collecting big data for testing platforms, and collaborating with leading domestic and international institutions.
