GS The Fresh to Use Banana Sales Proceeds to Help Children at Risk of Hunger GS The Fresh is conducting a donation campaign to support children at risk of hunger using the proceeds from banana sales in partnership with its partners.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] GS The Fresh announced on the 1st that it will conduct a donation campaign to support children at risk of food insecurity using the proceeds from banana sales in collaboration with its partners.


In this campaign, for every banana sold at stores this month, 50 to 100 KRW per pack will be accumulated as a donation to support children at risk of food insecurity and donated to Good Neighbors, a global child rights specialized NGO. The bananas eligible for donation are supplied by Dol Korea and Korea Del Monte, and all bananas sold at GS The Fresh stores are included.


During the event period, GS The Fresh will attach separate promotional materials at stores nationwide to guide customers about this charitable donation activity and will also conduct awareness activities about ethical consumption through social networking services (SNS).


A GS Retail official stated, “In vulnerable environments such as the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and rising prices, social attention is necessary so that children, the future of Korea, can grow up healthily,” adding, “We will fulfill the corporate social responsibility for vulnerable groups through various campaigns.”
