[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] On the 30th (local time), the U.S. Department of Commerce reported that the U.S. Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) price index for May rose 6.3% compared to the same period last year.
This increase was 0.3 percentage points lower than the 6.6% rise in March, which was the largest in 40 years, and matched the increase in the previous month (6.3%).
Also announced on the same day, personal income in May increased by 0.5% from the previous month. The April growth rate was revised from 0.4% to 0.5%.
