Eurozone May Unemployment Rate at 6.6%... Historic Low Level

[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] The unemployment rate in the Eurozone remained low in May.

Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union (EU), announced on the 30th (local time) that the Eurozone's unemployment rate in May was 6.6%, down 0.2 percentage points from the previous month (6.8%).

The unemployment rate stayed at a record low level. This figure is slightly below the experts' forecast of 6.8%.

The Eurozone unemployment rate recorded 7.0% in December last year, followed by 6.9% in January and February this year, and 6.8% from March to May.
