[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] Expansion has been detected in some juice products of Maeil Dairies, prompting the company to initiate a voluntary recall.
On the 30th, according to Maeil Dairies, expansion was observed in the 200ml 'Sunup Fruit Vegetable Salad Purple Pack' product with an expiration date of December 22 this year. Maeil Dairies stated, "We confirmed that the products met safety standards before shipment, but this phenomenon occurred in some products. Due to concerns about quality degradation during the summer season, we proactively decided on a voluntary recall."
Maeil Dairies is currently inspecting various aspects such as equipment and production processes to accurately identify the cause. Customers who purchased the product and wish to receive a refund or exchange can contact the customer service center.
A Maeil Dairies representative said, "The product was manufactured and delivered without any safety issues and was shipped on the 27th, but we understand the inconvenience caused to customers who received the expanded products," adding, "We will do our best to manage distribution to supply the best products."
