Joint Agreement to Bridge Cultural Gaps and Revitalize Basic Arts through the Munhwa Nuri Card
Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture and Samsung Foundation of Culture held a business agreement ceremony to improve the cultural welfare of Seoul citizens on the 29th of last month. [Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture announced on the 1st that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Samsung Foundation of Culture on the 29th of last month at the Leeum Museum of Art to expand cultural enjoyment opportunities for culturally marginalized groups. The purpose is to bridge the cultural gap through active cooperation between the two organizations and to revitalize the basic arts sector of the Munhwa Nuri Card.
Through this agreement, Munhwa Nuri Card users can view exhibitions at the Leeum Museum of Art free of charge and receive a 20% discount on purchases at the Leeum Store located within the museum.
Ticketing for exhibition viewing is available through online reservation sites and on-site, and the Leeum Store discount is provided only at offline stores to enhance the exhibition viewing experience for users.
Lee Chang-gi, CEO of the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture, said, “Through this agreement, we will expand the cultural enjoyment base for culturally marginalized groups and enhance the social roles of both institutions. We will also expand cooperation with related organizations to increase opportunities for Munhwa Nuri Card users to experience culture and arts and to revitalize the basic arts sector.”
Ryu Moon-hyung, CEO of the Samsung Foundation of Culture, said, “We are honored that the Samsung Foundation of Culture can participate in projects to improve cultural welfare in local communities,” adding, “As a public interest corporation, we will continue to strive to provide more people with opportunities to enjoy culture.”
Meanwhile, the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture plans to deliver information about exhibitions and programs held at the Leeum Museum of Art to Munhwa Nuri Card users and Seoul citizens through the Seoul Munhwa Nuri social networking service (SNS).
