[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Shinsegae Duty Free announced on the 30th that group tourists from Japan and the Philippines visited.

In Japan, the first group tourists visited on the 29th after the opening of the Gimpo-Haneda route. Shinsegae Duty Free said, "There were a total of 7 people, a small group, but all were travel agency officials, so it is significant as they develop Korean tourism products and send local tourists to Korea." They explained that while promoting the charm of Korean duty-free shops to them, they will reflect the feedback received during this visit on-site to attract many tourists in the future.

The Gimpo-Haneda route had a peak season boarding rate of 98% before the spread of COVID-19. Starting with Asiana on the 29th, four airlines operate eight flights weekly. Although the number of flights is about 10% of the pre-COVID-19 level in 2019 (84 weekly flights, regular flights basis), it is expected to gradually increase.

On the same day, 73 group tourists from the Philippines who arrived on Fly Gangwon’s regular flight also visited Shinsegae Duty Free. They are the first pure tourists to come since the resumption of tourist visa issuance for the Philippines in June.

Shinsegae Duty Free said, "In line with the trends of the first half of this year, we have renewed K-fashion and K-beauty stores, displayed a welcome message on the large media facade on the 10th floor on the day of the visit, and prepared self-produced quarantine kit gifts to welcome group tourists."
