"Job Opening Announcement for New Hires on the 1st of Every Odd Month" Hyundai Motor Applicants Gain Increased Predictability


[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 30th that from now on, it will post new employee recruitment announcements all at once on the 1st of every odd-numbered month on the company’s recruitment website. This will be applied starting next month.


This measure is aimed at increasing predictability for applicants and targets new university graduate hires (general positions, some research positions, and recruitment-conversion interns). In the past, each business division posted recruitment announcements at different times, requiring applicants to frequently check the site for updates.


The July new recruitment includes ▲ Business Planning & Support ▲ Product Strategy ▲ Marketing ▲ Domestic Sales & Service ▲ Overseas Sales & Service ▲ Plant Operation & Technology ▲ Pilot ▲ Quality, among others. Applications will be accepted until the 14th.


Additionally, a metaverse recruitment briefing session will be held regularly in line with the announcement posting schedule. One-on-one job consultations between applicants and current employees will also be available. This briefing session is scheduled for the 8th of next month.


For the first time, interviews utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) technology will be applied. AI developed in collaboration with the startup ‘Genesis Lab’ will be used to enhance objectivity in interviews. When AI asks questions to applicants, it analyzes and evaluates non-verbal elements such as facial expressions, behavior, and voice during the response process.


Behavioral Event Interview (BEI), where AI recognizes and structures applicants’ spoken answers into sentences to identify competencies, will also be conducted simultaneously. Hyundai plans to offer applicant-customized services that automatically recognize resumes using AI and big data and recommend suitable jobs and recruitment announcements.


Hyundai Motor Company shifted from a large-scale public recruitment system conducted at specific times to a continuous recruitment system since February 2019, hiring personnel as needed in each business division.
