Shinsegae Food Launches Alternative Meat Sandwich 'French Baguette Sandwich'

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Shinsegae Food announced on the 30th that it will launch a new menu item, the "French Baguette Sandwich," using its alternative meat "Better Meat."


The French Baguette Sandwich, which began sales at Starbucks from this day, features an authentic baguette with a crispy texture combined in an optimal ratio with soft Better Meat cold cut ham, tomato, arugula, grilled onions, and sauce, allowing customers to enjoy the sophisticated taste of a European-style sandwich. Unlike the "Plant Ham Arugula Sandwich," which had to be eaten chilled, this new sandwich is designed to be warmed and enjoyed hot, enhancing the natural flavors of the ingredients.


Along with the launch of the French Baguette Sandwich, Shinsegae Food plans to expand the variety of menus using Better Meat in the alternative meat group meal campaign "Better Day," which has been ongoing since April to broaden consumers' dining experiences.


A Shinsegae Food representative said, "As consumers increasingly appreciate not only the taste and quality but also the social value embedded in alternative meat, sandwiches using alternative meat have steadily gained popularity. We will strive to provide positive experiences with alternative meat in various settings by expanding the product lineup and menu options beyond the Better Meat cold cut ham currently offered for sandwiches."
