Citizens Ask, Mayor Answers... Gyeongju Mayor Jun Nak-yeong Inaugurates 'Talk Concert'

Reflecting the Commitment to Listen to Citizens' Opinions and Communicate with a More Humble Attitude

Mayor Ju Nak-yeong of Gyeongju is explaining the necessity of hosting the 2025 APEC Summit in Gyeongju at Hwarang Village on the 17th.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Gyeongju City in Gyeongbuk Province will hold the inauguration ceremony of Mayor Ju Nak-young of the 8th civil election in the form of a 'talk concert.'

The event will be held on July 1st at the Seorabeol Culture Center, inviting about 600 citizens under the theme "The Future Citizens of Gyeongju Ask, and the Mayor Answers!"

The inauguration ceremony of the 8th civil election was planned as a festival where citizens participate and communicate, moving away from the traditional rigid protocol-centered event.

Eight panelists will participate in open and frank policy discussions in various fields such as culture, tourism, economy, industry, and agriculture and fisheries.

Additionally, an interactive online discussion via ZOOM will be held with 100 citizens representing various sectors by field, age, and occupation.

On the day of the inauguration, Mayor Ju Nak-young will start his first schedule by paying respects at the Hwangseong Park Memorial Tower at 9 a.m.

Following this, a commemorative tree planting ceremony celebrating the launch of the 8th civil election will take place at the Hwangseong Park Time Capsule Plaza.

Mayor Ju Nak-young of Gyeongju said, "The overwhelming support and encouragement of 78.86% from the citizens of Gyeongju is both an expectation for the uninterrupted development of Gyeongju and a solemn command. From now on, I will always communicate with citizens and strive to serve them with a humble attitude without any negligence in city administration."
