Passenger at the Time of Accident Sent to Prosecution on Charges of Aiding Drunk Driving
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] Actress Kim Saeron (22), who hit a roadside tree and a transformer while driving under the influence, has been referred to the prosecution.
On the 29th, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced that Kim was sent to the prosecution without detention on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving and failure to take action after an accident) the previous day.
Earlier, on the morning of the 18th of last month, Kim caused an accident by hitting a structure while driving in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu. Police who responded to the report confirmed that Kim's blood alcohol concentration was high, but since Kim requested a blood test, it was conducted at a nearby hospital.
According to the National Forensic Service test results, Kim's blood alcohol concentration was about 0.2%, far exceeding the license cancellation level of 0.08%.
Her agency, Gold Medalist, officially stated, "We sincerely apologize for causing concern due to the accident caused by Kim Saeron's drunk driving."
Meanwhile, A, a person in their 20s who was riding with Kim at the time of the accident, was also referred to the prosecution on charges of aiding and abetting drunk driving.
