Outdoor Stage Held for the First Time in 3 Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] The 26th Bucheon Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) will open on July 7.
On the 29th, BIFAN announced, "The 26th opening ceremony will be held as an in-person event at 7 p.m. on July 7 at the Bucheon City Hall lawn plaza," adding, "Actors Park Byung-eun and Han Sun-hwa will host the event."
This year, the festival will be held as an in-person event on an outdoor stage for the first time in three years. The festival expressed confidence, saying, "It will be a new format of the opening ceremony that marks a new journey."
The red carpet, attended by actors, directors, and guests from around the world, will open from 6 p.m. on the day of the opening ceremony, which will be attended by about 1,800 audience members and guests. The opening film will be A24's horror movie Men (director Alex Garland).
This year, the Bucheon Fantastic Film Festival will be held in a hybrid format, both offline and online, from July 7 to 17. A total of 268 films from 49 countries will be screened at 13 venues including Bucheon City Hall lawn plaza, Eoulmadang, Fantastic Cube, Korea Manhwa Museum, CGV Sopung, Megabox Bucheon Starfield City, and online on Wavve.
