Chicken Plus Launches the World's Spiciest Chicken

Release of 5 Side Dishes Combining Fun and Flavor

Chicken Plus Launches the World's Spiciest Chicken

Chicken specialty franchise Chicken Plus (CEO Kim Wansik) announced that it will launch 'Haek Maeun Chicken,' the spiciest chicken in South Korea, along with four side menu items that combine fun and flavor, on Wednesday, June 29.

'Haek Maeun Chicken' was developed with the goal of creating the spiciest chicken in the world. Its spiciness measures approximately 22,000 Scoville units, more than twice as spicy as the hottest stir-fried ramen available on the market.

'Haek Maeun Chicken' consists of 6 boneless chicken pieces and uses 'Carolina Reaper,' the main ingredient of 'Paqui Chips,' known for the 'One Chip Challenge,' to deliver an extreme level of spiciness. The Carolina Reaper is listed in the Guinness World Records as the spiciest chili pepper in the world, with a Scoville rating of 2,200,000 Scoville units, and is well known for its hellish heat.

The menu developer of 'Haek Maeun Chicken' stated, "This 'Haek Maeun Chicken' was developed to offer a truly spicy yet delicious flavor for customers who love extreme spiciness." He added, "Even those confident in handling spicy food may find it difficult to eat all 6 pieces, and especially those who are not confident with spicy flavors are advised to refrain from attempting the challenge."

The 'Haek Maeun Chicken' challenge is also available: if you eat all 6 pieces within 5 minutes and then endure 5 minutes without eating anything, you succeed in the Nuclear Challenge.

In addition to Haek Maeun Chicken, three 'Black Label' side menu items and '2XL Cheese Sticks' were also launched.

The three Black Label side menu items include 'Milk Cheese Balls,' 'Bokbulbok Cheese Balls,' and 'Jeju Katsu Balls.' The Milk Cheese Balls offer a soft and sweet taste. The Bokbulbok Cheese Balls consist of 4 Milk Cheese Balls and 1 Wasabi Cheese Ball with a spicy kick. The Jeju Katsu Balls are ball-shaped katsu made using Jeju pork.

A representative from Chicken Plus said, "We decided to expand our side menu so customers can enjoy chicken even more. We hope that menus like 'Haek Maeun Chicken' and 'Bokbulbok Cheese Balls' will bring more joy to customers and help them create happy memories while enjoying chicken."
