[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Busan City will hold the festival “2022 Busan Food Film Festa (BFFF),” which adds the taste of food to movies, for three days starting with the “Opening Night” on the 1st.
The “Opening Night,” marking the start of the 2022 BFFF, will be held on the 1st at 7 p.m. at the outdoor theater of the Busan Cinema Center.
The event will proceed in the order of the opening performance by “Ssaiburger,” ▲ introduction of this year’s main theme and programs ▲ theme performance by “Ensemble Clazoom” ▲ screening of the opening film “Wine Family,” with free admission for the first 1,000 attendees on a first-come, first-served basis.
The 2022 BFFF, which introduces films and documentaries themed around food, will screen a total of 12 films divided into three sections under the theme “Drinking Humanity, Homo Bacchus.”
Various programs such as Food Terrace, Night Cruise Food Terrace, Juju Club, and Food Salon are also prepared, where visitors can taste various foods and share stories along with the films.
This year, in line with the event theme “Drinking Humanity, Homo Bacchus,” seminar programs featuring traditional liquor, whiskey, and wine will also be presented.
In the traditional liquor seminar, Moon Sun-hee, director of Makgeolli School, and Park Joong-hyup, CEO of Malgeunnaeil Brewery, will conduct a tasting and seminar on the theme “The Skill and Future of Korean Traditional Liquor.”
In the whiskey seminar, Kim Chang-soo, CEO of “Kim Chang-soo Whiskey Distillery,” which has recently attracted great interest from whiskey enthusiasts, will conduct a tasting and seminar titled “Becoming Whiskey in Korea.”
In the wine seminar, Myung Sun-young, director of the New Zealand Chamber of Commerce, will conduct a seminar on the topic “New Zealand Wine Expert Course.”
Attendees who complete the wine seminar will be issued a New Zealand Wine Expert Certificate.
At the outdoor plaza, side events such as Theme Zone, Food Zone, Food Trucks, Flea Market, and Potluck Table will be held to provide enjoyable memories for visitors.
At the “Potluck Table,” a community program for BFFF audiences, visitors can enjoy food purchased on-site or brought from home along with various performances, events, and films.
At the “Theme Zone,” visitors can experience various alcoholic beverages such as traditional liquor, whiskey, and wine in line with this year’s theme, while the “Food Zone” offers various products and services from food companies representing Busan.
The “Farmers Market,” where local farmers sell fresh produce they have grown themselves, the vegetable pizza-making experience “Food Therapy” for children to get familiar with vegetables, and the “Fresh Food Zone,” a special vegan food zone that has recently attracted much attention, will also be operated.
Additionally, representative “Food Trucks” from across the country with various concepts and the “Flea Market Gongsang,” where works by small business owners and artisans from the Busan area can be enjoyed in one place, will be set up.
Kim Ki-hwan, Director of the Culture and Sports Bureau of Busan City, said, “I hope that the 2022 Busan Food Film Festa, where people can watch movies, eat food, and enjoy together, will soothe the hearts of Busan citizens tired from COVID-19,” and added, “We ask for the interest and participation of all citizens.”
