"The ruling party floor leader delays negotiations and heads to the Philippines... Told to focus on people's livelihood but becomes a special envoy"
[Asia Economy reporters Park Jun-yi and Oh Ju-yeon] On the 29th, Park Hong-geun, floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, fiercely criticized Kwon Seong-dong, floor leader of the People Power Party, who went to the Philippines presidential inauguration as a special envoy, saying, "The floor leader of the ruling party postponed the (parliamentary organization) negotiations and went to the Philippines," and "The recent behavior of the ruling party is a hit-and-run on people’s livelihood."

At the emergency committee meeting held at the National Assembly that morning, Floor Leader Park said, "Even though supporters opposed the quick normalization of the National Assembly, and even though it was a promise between former floor leaders without authority, we made a generous concession to give up the chairmanship of the Legislation and Judiciary Committee," and criticized, "Nevertheless, the ruling party deviated from cooperation and took a detour."
He pointed out, "When we told them to open the National Assembly quickly and take care of people’s livelihood, why engage in special envoy activities in an emergency situation?" and added, "They are intoxicated with election victory, with zero concern for people’s livelihood and full of arrogance."
Regarding the parliamentary organization negotiations, the People Power Party’s continued refusal to submit the 'list of members for the Special Committee on Judicial Reform' demanded by the Democratic Party was described as "stubbornness," and he urged, "Even now, please cooperate in forming the National Assembly’s Special Committee on Judicial Reform according to the spirit of agreement and join the reform of power institutions mandated by the people." He continued, "The Special Committee on Judicial Reform, which has already passed the plenary session, is guaranteed to operate until the end of this year, and the Democratic Party has submitted the list of members," adding, "If only the People Power Party submits theirs, the Special Committee on Judicial Reform can be launched."
Floor Leader Park emphasized, "The longer the normalization of the National Assembly is delayed, the greater the livelihood and economic crisis becomes," and said, "I hope the ruling party shows genuine cooperation even with the full authority of the floor deputy leader."
