NHN Cloud "Achieving 800 Billion KRW in Sales by 2026"


[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] NHN Cloud has announced its ambition to achieve 800 billion KRW in sales by 2026 through massive investments in data centers and artificial intelligence (AI) technology development.


Kim Dong-hoon, Co-CEO of NHN Cloud, stated at the cloud conference ‘NHN Cloud make IT’ held on the 28th at the Grand Intercontinental Seoul Parnas in Samseong-dong, Seoul, "Through large-scale investments this year, we will grow into a company with global competitiveness beyond Korea."


He added, "This year, we plan to make significant investments to lead the cloud market," and "We will demonstrate leadership in the market while minimizing the technology gap with global cloud companies."


In his presentation, he also emphasized plans to build an OpenStack and cloud-native ecosystem based on technological capabilities. NHN Cloud boasts ▲'flexibility' capable of responding to public, private, and hybrid clouds by leveraging the strengths of 'OpenStack' technology ▲'stability' by securing both overseas certifications such as ISO 27001 and CSA Star, and domestic certifications including CSAP and ISMS-P ▲'differentiation' such as being the only company in Korea to obtain Kubernetes certification.


In particular, NHN Cloud plans to strengthen its technological competitiveness by participating in globally leading foundations such as the OpenInfra Foundation, Linux Foundation, and CNCF (Cloud Native Computing Foundation).


They also revealed a business expansion strategy based on cloud data centers. Kim Myung-shin, NHN Cloud Chief Technology Officer (CTO), explained that they will provide cloud services centered on regional data centers currently under construction in Gwangju, Gimhae, and Suncheon. They also plan to expand the cloud ecosystem by establishing educational institutions for nurturing local talent and creating quality jobs through regional R&D centers.


Meanwhile, the conference, held under the concept ‘NHN Cloud’s vision of the cloud, a world where business value is realized,’ attracted great interest from the industry, with over 1,800 people pre-registering to attend.


The conference consisted of 14 sessions covering ▲cloud technology ▲Kubernetes ▲AI ▲high-performance computing ▲game platforms ▲collaboration tools ▲messaging ▲security, among others. NHN Cloud partners such as Intel Korea, Graphcore, Jet Converter Cloud, AhnLab, and Veritas Korea participated to share cloud technology strategies.
