Gwangju Nambu Fire Station, Emergency Rescue Students Ride Along on 119 Ambulance for Practical Training

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Gwangju Southern Fire Station announced that it is operating a '119 Ambulance Ride-Along Training' to improve emergency response capabilities for students majoring in emergency medical services.

The 119 Ambulance Ride-Along Training is conducted for 16 emergency medical services students from Dongkang University, Health University, and Honam University, and will take place over eight weeks from the 27th of last month to August 19.

Emergency medical services students are assigned to fire stations and dispatched to the field with paramedics, gaining hands-on experience in patient assessment, treatment methods, infection prevention, and other field activities. At the same time, they have the opportunity to learn paramedics' know-how and hear their experiences, allowing them to acquire ambulance operation skills both directly and indirectly.

A trainee from Honam University who participated in the 119 Ambulance Ride-Along Training stated, "I will diligently engage in field training based on what I have learned at school," adding, "I will do my best to develop my capabilities and become an excellent emergency medical technician who saves precious lives on the scene as a paramedic, not just a trainee."
