Geochang-gun Industrial Safety and Health Committee 2nd Quarter Regular Meeting.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the morning of the 28th, Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam held the 2nd quarter Industrial Safety and Health Committee meeting in the county office situation room to deliberate on safety and health matters in Geochang-gun.

The Industrial Safety and Health Committee is an organization that deliberates and resolves important matters related to workplace safety and health pursuant to Article 24 of the Industrial Safety and Health Act. It is composed equally of 5 employers, including the Safety and Health Management Officer, Geochang-gun Governor, and 5 workers.

The committee holds meetings quarterly every year to establish a systematic safety management system. At this meeting, they discussed the progress and improvements of the 1st quarter and deliberated and resolved a complete revision of the "Geochang-gun Safety and Health Management Regulations."

Through collecting opinions from on-site workers and managers, they discussed practical work environment improvements and implementation schedules, and agreed to make efforts to prevent suffocation accidents caused by oxygen deficiency or harmful gases in confined spaces.

Gu In-mo, Governor of Geochang-gun and representative of the employers, said, “I ask the committee members to work together to prevent industrial accidents not only at the main office where employees work but also at all businesses within the county,” and expressed his commitment to safety management by stating, “We will do our best to create a safe and pleasant working environment.”

The county plans to hold a reporting session on the 29th to review the inspection results conducted by safety and health managers during the first half of the year for the health of workers and improvement of the working environment.
