After submitting the request, floor spokesperson Oh told reporters, "The Democratic Party has submitted the request for the July extraordinary session. From 2 p.m. on July 1, the plenary session can be convened at any time."

He added, "Until then, the Democratic Party will not give up on negotiations with the government and the ruling party to normalize the National Assembly and will continue to persuade them until the very end. We hope for the swift normalization of the National Assembly to resolve urgent legislative tasks related to public livelihood and overcoming the economic crisis, and we will not let go of the negotiation efforts until the last moment."

Representative Jeon also said, "With the four major hardships of high inflation, high interest rates, high exchange rates, and high oil prices piling up, I believe it is time for the National Assembly to do its work now."

He then pointed to People Power Party floor leader Kwon Seong-dong, saying, "It is time for Floor Leader Kwon to stop neglecting his duties and work hard to normalize the National Assembly as soon as possible." He specifically mentioned that Floor Leader Kwon was scheduled to depart for the Philippines in the afternoon as a special envoy, emphasizing, "This is not the time to be conducting special envoy activities in the Philippines. The National Assembly must fulfill its role and work for the people suffering from the fourfold hardships."
