Recognition for Contributions to Innovation Growth in Industrial Complexes

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Korea Industrial Complex Corporation announced on the 28th that Chairman Kim Jeong-hwan received the 'Industrial Innovation Merit Award' from the Industrial Cluster Society (President Seon-hoon Jeong, Professor at Kangwon National University) in recognition of his contributions to the innovative growth of industrial complexes.
The Industrial Innovation Merit Award is given by the Industrial Cluster Society to individuals who have made significant contributions to the advancement of academic activities in the fields of industrial innovation and industrial clusters. Since his appointment in March 2020, Chairman Kim has been making various efforts to transform industrial complexes from production-centered spaces into innovation-creating spaces.
In particular, he fully converted the mini-clusters (MC), which had been operated under public leadership for 16 years, into autonomous MCs, supporting the formation of self-sustaining networks led by the private sector. Along with this, last year, the corporation was also selected as an excellent institution in safety management activities in safety evaluations conducted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. Chairman Kim said, "I will continue to work harder to promote manufacturing innovation and build an innovation ecosystem."
