[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] ○…‘KPMG Women's Champ’ Jeon In-ji (28) is on the verge of entering the ‘Top 10’.


On the morning of the 28th (Korean time), she received 4.46 points in the officially announced weekly women's golf world rankings, jumping 21 places from 33rd last week to 12th. She accumulated points by winning the third major of this season's LPGA Tour, the KPMG Women's PGA Championship (total prize money $9 million), which ended the day before at the Blue Course (par 72) of Congressional Golf Club in Bethesda, Maryland, USA. This is her 4th career win, coming 3 years and 8 months after the KEB Hana Bank Championship in October 2018.


Ko Jin-young (27, 9.35 points) maintained her 1st place, while KPMG Women's runner-up Minjee Lee (Australia, 8.45 points) pushed Nelly Korda (USA, 8.24 points) down to 3rd and rose to 2nd place. ‘Rookie No. 1’ Atthaya Thitikul (Thailand) is 4th, Lydia Ko (New Zealand) 5th, Lexi Thompson (USA) 6th, and Hataoka Nasa (Japan) 7th. Korea's Kim Hyo-joo (27) is 8th, Kim Se-young (29) 11th, and Park In-bee (34) 13th. BC Card champ Park Min-ji (24) rose 2 places to 16th.
