[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang County in Gyeongnam announced that on the 25th, the Geochang County Chapter of the Korea Freedom Federation held a 6.25 War photo exhibition and food experience event at the county office's cultural relaxation space, with 20 members participating.

This event was held to commemorate the 72nd anniversary of the outbreak of the 6.25 War, aiming to inform the citizens about the horrors of the war and thereby raise awareness of the importance of freedom and peace.

The event displayed photos of the 6.25 War and provided barley rice balls, barley rice cakes, and potato rice cakes?foods eaten during the war?offering an opportunity to indirectly experience the conditions of that time.

Chairman Yang Hojin said, “Through this event, I hope it becomes an opportunity to reflect on the tragedy and sorrow of the war that we have long forgotten, to honor the veterans and ancestors who sacrificed their lives for the country, and to inspire patriotism and the importance of national security in the younger generations.”

Geochang County Governor Goo In-mo said, “Strong national security is the future of the nation and the shortcut to peaceful reunification. I thank the Korea Freedom Federation Geochang County Chapter for holding this meaningful event to inform citizens about the horrors of war and to improve awareness about reunification.”

The Korea Freedom Federation Geochang County Chapter is actively working to achieve peace on the Korean Peninsula and a healthy social community through various activities based on the spirit of ‘Gukri Minbok (國利民福)’ including democratic citizen education for reunification preparation, support for North Korean defectors’ settlement, visits to military personnel, and operation of the Mothers’ Posuni Volunteer Group.
