By4M Studio (CEO Yu Gwiseon) announced on the 27th that it has secured an additional investment of approximately 55 billion KRW from Praxis Capital and Stick Investment.
According to By4M Studio, a comprehensive content company, it has been sequentially securing strategic investments from Naver Webtoon, F&F, and others since the second half of last year, and with this recent additional investment, it is reported to have attracted a cumulative investment of about 75 billion KRW over the past two years.
Praxis Capital is actively investing in the rapidly growing content sector. Last year, it invested 300 billion KRW in JTBC Studio, becoming the second-largest shareholder, and also invested 200 billion KRW in Beyond Music, a music copyright adjacent rights management company. It has continued to achieve successful investment returns in the content sector, including with the content platform company ‘Ridi’.
Additionally, Stick Investment is known as one of the major domestic private equity funds that has grown based on over 20 years of successful investment performance. It has accumulated successful investment results through various industry cycles over a long period and gained recognition this year by investing 100 billion KRW in the music copyright platform ‘Musicow.’ It continues to prove its house brand with successful investments in companies like HYBE.
According to By4M Studio, as the company is poised to become one that plans and releases more music than all major entertainment agencies combined, discussions for various collaborations through Beyond Music and Musicow led to the initiation of meetings with these investment institutions. Subsequently, beyond just music IP capabilities, By4M’s unique OSMU competitiveness?encompassing story IP such as films, dramas, publishing, webtoons, and web novels, as well as e-commerce and F&B?and collaboration points with various invested companies of the investment institutions culminated in this investment.
Including past investments, By4M Studio was selected as a prospective unicorn in 2021 and has continuously grown its existing e-commerce, music IP, publishing, and F&B businesses. Based on a business structure optimized for OSMU (One Source Multi-Use), it is rapidly expanding its operations organically. Over the past year, it has actively invested hundreds of billions of KRW in the film, drama, and other video content industries, advancing as a comprehensive content company. The company also announced plans to establish an OSMU comprehensive content investment fund exceeding 100 billion KRW in the second half of this year.
