"“Mabuhay Gyeongbuk!”, Promoting Gyeongsangbuk-do in the Philippines"

Participation in the Grand Travel Expo Travel Tour Expo 2022

"“Mabuhay Gyeongbuk!”, Promoting Gyeongsangbuk-do in the Philippines" The largest travel expo (TTE, Travel Tour Expo 2022) held from the 24th to the 26th at the SMX Convention Center in Manila, Philippines.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] From the 24th to the 26th, Gyeongbuk Province and the Gyeongbuk Cultural Tourism Corporation participated in the 'Philippines' Largest Travel Expo (TTE, Travel Tour Expo 2022)' held at the SMX Convention Center in Manila, Philippines, conducting promotional marketing activities to attract local tourists.

"Mabuhay Gyeongbuk" means "Welcome to Gyeongbuk" in Filipino Tagalog.

At this expo, which recorded over 110 domestic and international organizations and 50,000 visitors, the province and corporation focused on introducing Gyeongbuk's representative Hallyu resources such as Hangul, Hanbok, Korean cuisine, and Hanok, world-recognized cultural heritage, and events including the Andong International Mask Dance Festival starting September 30 and the Yeongju World Punggi Ginseng Expo.

Considering that the country has high social media usage time and many personal accounts, they also held an Instagram follow and topper (foam board) virtual travel photo certification event.

Through a mailing survey, they established an online channel to continuously deliver online newsletters such as the Gyeongbuk Tourism Moving Newsletter even after the expo.

Through the main promotional stage of the expo and the dedicated stage of the Korean Tourism Promotion Hall, they effectively promoted the charm of Gyeongbuk tourism by presenting a project themed "Travel to Gyeongbuk with K-Content," linked to filming locations of popular Hallyu dramas aired locally in the Philippines.

Kim Sangcheol, Director of the Culture, Tourism and Sports Bureau of Gyeongbuk Province, said, "The doors to international tourism are gradually opening with quarantine exemption and reduced PCR testing. The Philippines also resumed visa issuance from June," adding, "Starting from this travel expo, we will actively raise awareness of Gyeongbuk tourism and attract tourists through strategic promotional marketing utilizing Hallyu content."
