[Asia Economy Reporter Kum Boryeong] The Democratic Party of Korea has decided to establish a 'West Sea Public Official Incident Task Force (TF)'.
Woo Sang-ho, Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, stated at a regular press briefing held at the National Assembly on the morning of the 26th, "The People Power Party's response seems excessively political and distorts facts a lot. We have been patient for quite some time, but I have decided that we need to respond to this issue," adding, "We will create a TF within the party for the West Sea public official incident."
Chairman Woo explained, "We will form a team centered on party members who are well-versed in this issue," and "We will discuss how to handle this issue and devise response measures through the TF."
The TF will be led by Representative Kim Byung-joo, a former Army General, with members including Representatives Yoon Gun-young, Hwang Hee, and Kim Byung-gi. Representative Yoon served as the Blue House Situation Room Chief, and Representative Kim Byung-gi is a former National Intelligence Service official.
Earlier on the same day, Representative Ha Tae-kyung of the People Power Party wrote on his Facebook, "A door has opened to approach the truth of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries public official shooting incident. The Ministry of the Interior and Safety has issued an authoritative interpretation that official documents received by ministries or agencies from the Presidential Office cannot be considered presidential records," adding, "Based on this interpretation, we requested all Blue House directive documents received by the agencies. The reality of the incident is gradually being revealed."
