Held an Open Q&A Session with the District Mayor and Staff to Broaden Empathy and Understanding
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jeong Won-oh) held a 'Kindness and Communication Concert' on the 22nd to deeply understand the lives of residents and implement friendly administrative services, sharing a time of empathy with employees.
.
This 'Kindness and Communication Concert' was hosted by Professor Jeong Jun-hee, who is actively involved in MBC's '100-Minute Debate', KBS Radio's 'Open Debate', and TBS's 'Jeong Jun-hee's Hashtag'. He gave a lecture on the theme of 'Media experiences that block communication and media utilization for communication.' Along with numerous pre-submitted questions, there were questions and answers on topics such as 'how to properly collect and conclude the claims of residents with different interests and opinions' and 'methods of communication with MZ generation residents or employees within departments.'
A public Q&A session with Seongdong-gu Mayor Jeong Won-oh and employees was also arranged, during which an open talk show was held. Mayor Jeong, who is about to start the 8th term of the local government, shared his future commitments and aspirations, and employees asked questions they had been curious about.
Along with Mayor Jeong's recent talk about his family life and stories at home, episodes from the election campaign were also shared. When an employee requested that many staff members be able to take the currently popular MBTI test, Mayor Jeong readily expressed his agreement. Employees gathered together to share different perspectives through conversation, creating a time of 'communication' based on broad mutual understanding.
About 200 people attended this 'Kindness and Communication Concert,' which was organized as part of 'Happy Management' to enable better customer satisfaction administrative services through a rich balance of work and life for employees, following the 'Seongdong-gu Happy Management Declaration Ceremony' held earlier this year.
Having received family-friendly city re-certification last year (initially in 2010) and earning high evaluations for top management's interest and will in family-friendly management, the district prepared this concert to deliver communication messages to employees. It plans to continue expanding employees' understanding and empathy to carry out district administration that gains even greater trust from residents.
As residents' demands for administration increase and diversify day by day, Seongdong-gu has set the realization of a friendly district administration as a key goal from the 6th to the 7th local government terms, making various efforts to improve all employees' kindness and provide high-quality administrative services.
Accordingly, after winning the grand prize at the 13th Dasan Mokmin Awards last year, this year it was honored as the 'Nationwide Best Institution for Comprehensive Civil Service Evaluation for Five Consecutive Years.'
Seongdong-gu Mayor Jeong Won-oh said, “If innovation is defined as renewing old methods with a new perspective, then sharing diverse opinions at the same level with employees is also administrative innovation,” adding, “We will continue to promote work innovation through the activation of a communication culture and realize more friendly administration based on understanding and empathy, delivering administrative services that go beyond resident satisfaction to resident inspiration.”
